About Us

Our School

The effects of autism can be difficult for children, and a school environment created especially for children with autism can offer services tailored to each child’s individual needs. These services extend beyond those offered in special education in public schools.

Located in Sparks, Maryland, the Trellis School provides therapeutic interventions tailored to children with autism. We are a Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE)-approved and Maryland Association of Nonpublic Special Education Facilities (MANSEF)-affiliated, non-public elementary, middle, and high school for children in kindergarten to twelfth grade, serving male and female students from age 5 through 21 in multi-grade classrooms. Educational disabilities served include:

  • 01 - intellectual disability

  • 04 - speech and language impairment

  • 08 - other health Impairment

  • 14 - autism

Our enrollment capacity is 64 students, with students enrolled in elementary and middle school working toward a Maryland High School Diploma or a Maryland Certificate of Program Completion. Students begin participating in statewide testing in 3rd grade. Meanwhile, those in our high school program work toward a Maryland Certificate of Program Completion.

Trellis School is a part of LEARN Behavioral, a national organization dedicated to nurturing the unique potential of children with autism.
